Total driving time is approximately 3 hours, plus 1 hour on the ferry.
From Jaco By Boat
There is a new alternative for those wanting to travel from San Jose, Alajuela, Jaco or Manuel Antonio to Santa Teresa Beach, and vice versa, without having to drive or take a ferry or plane.
It’s a Taxi Boat run by Zuma Tours that leaves from Herradura Beach (next to Jaco) every day at 10:45 AM and arrives in one hour to Montezuma. From there, a transfer will take you straight to Hotel Tropico Latino in Santa Teresa with a total travel time of 2 hours; average cost is $55 per person.
The boats range in size between 26 and 30 feet long and have a capacity of 12 to 30 passengers, with luggage. Boats have 2 motors of 175 HP each, ensuring a fast and safe trip across the Gulf of Nicoya, not to mention giving you beautiful sights along the way!
